your typical "i love fall" post.

I just love fall.
I could spend all year in oversized cardigans, scarves & boots, walking through the yellow & red mountains.
Pumpkin spice steamers, fall decorations, yummy pumpkin treats, pumpkin candles.
You name it, pretty much anything with pumpkin & I'm all over it.

The other day, me & the hubs drove up the canyon near his home for a picnic.
It was soo pretty! I couldn't help but take picture after picture. Before long, my SD card was full!

I, for once, was actually wearing something besides yoga pants & Nikes, so naturally, we had to document it.
Kalvin being the cute husband he is, kept moving me around, trying to get the perfect picture of me!
Now if he'd only let me take pictures of him...

 cardigan// forever 21   scarf// bohme   pants// h&m   t-shirt & booties//maurices

and speaking of halloween decorations..
I'm slowly beginning to fill my hutch & finally got my banner hung!
I still have a few more projects/decorations to hang but....... I'll probably just cuddle with my hubby instead!

day on the ranch.

For Fall Break, Kalvin & I headed to Cokeville for a much need relaxing weekend!  Yesterday we spent the day at Kalvin's family ranch finishing up a few last minute chores before winter comes... which in Wyoming could be any day now. Gross, I know.

Kalvin's family has owned this ranch for 20+ years.  I'm not gonna lie I was a little nervous when I was told I was coming with! But the day went great.. there were only a few times I thought my heart was going to stop but I survived! I couldn't believe how big the calves were! And the cows.. after seeing a few bent fences & attempted escapes, I kept my distance.

I was in charge of keeping & letting all the calves into one pen. Look at those glares....
We first started by giving all the calves their vaccines to keep them from getting sick!
Then came the branding.. Their were two calves that were born later in the year that still needed their brand.
Isn't my outfit so cute? I wore a bunch of old clothes of Kalvin's.  Legit boyfriend jeans.
By the end of the day, I was covered in cow crap & dirt, it really didn't matter.
Now this is probably the most flatter picture I am ever going to find of myself! Ha!
This perfectly describes how I felt about one of the tasks.. Luckily only two fellow's had to lose their manhood.
And by the end of the day, they were all back in the fields, happily grazing.
Considering it was my first time, I did pretty dang good! [well at least i think so]
It was just nice to be outside, in the pretty mountains enjoying the fall weather while it's here!

The Pink Series + a Park City getaway.

Every year, for the past four years, the women in my family run the Park City Pink Series race as Team Dixie.  The race is all about women who are fighting or are survivors of breast cancer.
I look forward to this weekend every year.  It's basically a big ol' girls weekend filled with shopping, overeating & a little running I guess. This year unfortunately, I wasn't able to run due to an injury two weeks early.  I was in denial about not being able to run until a few days before when I realized I could barely walk without hurting, let alone run 13.1 miles.

However, because I wasn't able to run I was able to spend time with Dixie & the rest of the supporting team. It was a great experience.  I absolutely love my Aunt Dixie, she is the definition of Brave. A 13 year survivor of two different cancers, including breast cancer.
When I was designing this year's shirt I wanted something that was going to be simple & stand out. They did just that. I loved them!
all the women at the race either fighting or a survivor of breast cancer was brought on stage after the race & given a crown & a metal.  It was so touching to watch them all share their stories & be honored.
One of the vendors during the registration pickup's was selling customized necklaces.  Me & my mom picked these charms just for Dixie.  It was beautiful!

And if girl's night & the race couldn't get any better, the boys [kalvin, my dad & brother] came up Saturday after the race and we all spent an extra day in Park City.

As you can imagine, Park City is so pretty right now!
We spent some time driving around, gawking at house & the mountains.  When we were driving, I looked out the window & saw a momma moose & her baby! Just chillin' in the neighbors yard, not even caring we were there.
And of course, leave it to my husband to be adorable!
We were walking down the street, the perfectly lit streets of Park City, we walked past a few restaurants playing oldies music when Kalvin began dancing with me in the streets!
This weekend was the best, I love hanging out with my family! Only three more days & we are headed out again for another weekend away.. thank goodness!
